In 1984, The Brother From Another Planet became a cult classic. Although it received somewhat mixed reviews, the common critique of the film is that it gave society another looking glass to exam itself with a comedic edge to it. The art noire of Joe Morgan’s title character being mute was a nod to the days of silent films, with a compelling soundtrack to help guide the plot. On Friday, August 2nd, King Britt and the BlackStar Film Fest revisit this work bringing their own paradigm to remix both the audio and video, unrehearsed in a live setting. They’re thinking outside of the box on this one, and the intimacy of Johnny Brenda’s is gonna help set the mood for the show.
